Twilight...The Worst Movie Ever?

Well no, for me, that title still goes to the Quick and the Dead. But, Twilight ranks pretty low. Not sure what the point was other than to profit off of a bunch of teens who have read the books. Maybe it is all a conspiracy by book publishers - create interesting books and corresponding sucka$$ movies. Hey kids, see movies are for suckers, reading is where it's at.

But, then again I didn't read the books. In fact I am so out of the loop, I hadn't even heard of the Twilight series until Laura came home from teaching at her middle school and told me about it. Man I am old.

Anyhoo, we were watching the movie and I happened to pause it at the scene below and thought it was funny.

Look out!! He's behind you with a knife!!

Swimming with Sonoma

Spring is back and Sonoma couldn't be happier since see gets to go swimming again.

Lately she has been doing more "fishing" then actually swimming. She will head over to the side and wait for her toy to float closer and then swat at it with her paw in an effort to fish it out. Not sure why she does it because she loves diving in after I toss it in...maybe it's a new game for her.

This is the 3rd annual event to help shed light (ha ha) on the importance of energy conservation. So do your part tonight and get in the habit of turning off those items that are not in use - You'll save money and the planet.

Pre-Baby Pictures

Dreams of a Puppy

Well I don't know what she is dreaming about, but it's probably, "Wiffleball, Wiffleball, Wiffleball" or "Swimming, Swimming, Swimming" or maybe even "I wonder when that baby is going to come."

Go Devils!!!

Wow, while I wasn't looking the ASU men's basketball team has been good. I just saw the Devils beat up on Tucson Tech to go 3-0 for the sweep this season. And we are ranked in the top 25! When did they get good? I don't normally follow basketball, but maybe this year I'll check out a little March Madness.

Now Only $19.95...

So back in the day, let's say circa 1997, there was this movie, Trial and Error, where this con man is on trail for defrauding consumers. He offers a limited number of copper engravings of the great emancipator for $19.95 (I actually don't know what the price was, but let's go with $19.95). What the consumers actually received was a penny. Hence the "copper," the "engraving," and the "great emancipator" (Lincoln). As a side note, I think this was the funniest part of the movie, so I wouldn't recommend going out to rent it or anything.

Someone must have seen this movie and thought it was a good idea and began selling a set of full color coins that commemorate Barack Obama's inauguration. Apparently, these coins are just regular U.S. coins with a sticker stuck on them...all for only $19.95.

Now I figured the company actually created these coins (similar to the random things you find in cereal boxes or as giveaways at baseball games). I didn't think they were produced by the U.S. mint as an alternative to existing currency (though it looks like many insomniacs did). But I was amazed to find out that all they did was slap a sticker on the top and send them out.

What's even funnier is that they come with a certificate of authenticity. I wonder what they are certifying?

Apparently, there are several of these types of offers going on, all rip-offs, but I thought this was funny.
